About Black History 101
Black History 101 is an independent educational media project built around one principle: evidence over myths.
The project makes historical scholarship accessible through visual essays, videos, and educational resources without reducing complicated history to trivia, heroes, villains, or convenient talking points.
Our standard
Each visual essay starts with a question, claim, or myth and follows the historical evidence—using scholarship to make complicated history accessible without watering it down.
